3rd Annual Community Awards
28^th Annual Person of the Year
 

The Pewaukee Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce the recipients of the Person of the Year and Business Awards for 2008!

• The person of the year is awarded to Abby Lorenz, President of the Pewaukee Arts Council and Board Member and Event Coordinator for the Pewaukee Water Ski Club.  Her countless acts of civic leadership and volunteerism have improved the image of the Pewaukee Community and enhanced the quality of living for all citizens.
   

• The small business award was presented to Beef O'Brady's.  Beef O'Bradys is a family restaurant involved in a number of community activities from feeding the press box at the Pirate football games to fundraising spirit nights for schools and local churches. 
   

• The recipient of the medium business award is Western Lakes Golf Course.  Western Lakes is family owned and includes both employees and customers in that family.  They have been in business for 20 years and have always made the extra effort to cater to non-profit and charity organizations.
   

• The large business award was presented to Wal-Mart.  Wal-Mart works with many community organizations to better the community and help others.  They donate grants and monies to local organizations to include VAP grants (Volunteerism Always Pays) that give money to organizations that employ volunteers. 

These individuals and businesses along with local business employees were honored at the Pewaukee Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Banquet which was held at the Western Lakes Golf Club, W287 N1963 Oakton Rd., Pewaukee, on Wednesday, January 28th, 2009, from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.  For more information on this event, please contact the Pewaukee Chamber at (262) 691-8851 or info@pewaukeechamber.org.
